Michael, i have a doubt. my voice is very heavy.. some people call me a bass. but... my first bridge (well at least where i can sing without pushing) is D above low C, or D below middle C, at least is what i feel. can you talk about this?

thanks

hey mike, I just wanted to find somewhere on your page to give you an enormous thanks for your generosity, humility and fantastic quality of instruction. I love the added explanation you give to your exercises, and I love that not everything goes perfectly for you making them, its so real!

I dont have much trouble with the first two bridges being a tenor. But for some reason i cannot get into my 3rd bridge without my larynx shooting up and choking me. Is there any way to get the larynx to stay down this high?

Michael Goodrich's website was the first one I've found when I got seriously into the issue of singing. I'm happy he has modernized his website, moreover bringing free tips and clues for lovers of the vocal technique subject all over the world.

Here in this video we have a great example of Michael's clear-cut explanations of disputed topics such features that clearly differentiate between registers, such as mix and head, falsetto and head, mix and chest, and so on.

By the way, Michael, I noticed your videos are delivered by Viddler and couldn't find any video of yours in Youtube, perhaps the most famous video sharing website outside. Wouldn' t you like your videos available in Youtube as well?

Hugs from São Paulo, Brazil.

Hi Michael,
I'm so excited to have come across your new (well, new-to-me) website recently! I had learned so much from you several years ago, and have continued this learning curve as I've studied with other SLS master level instructors. My voice is doing things I never thought possible - and I am now a Level 4 SLS Instructor :)
I have often experienced mental blocks/beliefs both personally and with many of my students and I'm intrigued to know how you've been able to combine being a vocal technician and also to take the whole person into the equation as well. I can't wait to see what you've been up to....and I may have to book some time in person as well so I can ask the questions I know will inevitably come from that.
I've signed up to receive the videos and can't wait to learn something new :)

Hi Mike,

As you know - rock-style often calls for "distortion" on the notes. There are a few techniques out there for this effect that teaches it in a healthy way. What's your view on this technique/aproach??

PS. And please don't disgard the "rough" sound just because it sounds unhealthy. A lot of the rock singers out there have longer careers than other "legit"-"pure" singers.

Thanks for the information-packed video Michael. I was just wondering though, you mention keeping your mouth more in a closed position -- doesn't this limit the resonance and resulting fullness and volume? Or does this keep the resonance from building too much in the mouth, thereby helping amplify head resonance?

Again, many thanks for these videos, etc
