Singing and writing songs at age 5, Jennifer knew music was her passion. She studied piano, sang in choir and created her own band with her sister at age 12. Jennifer wrote the music and lyrics to numerous songs and her band played in the Los Angeles area for over 10 years. During this time she was in college starring in musicals such a “Closer Than Ever” and “Camelot” and studying voice with many teachers. Jennifer and her sister had much success getting their songs into movies and singing back-up with many recording artists.
She met her husband, Michael in 1996 who was a Master teacher of the Seth Rigg’s Speech Level Singing Vocal Technique for over 10 years. Jennifer took one lesson and knew it was the technique she had been looking for her whole life. It felt so natural and healthy and it made such logical sense. Singing can be so elusive and finding concepts that actually make sense and that you can apply and count on was not something she had experienced in the past.
Michael urged Jennifer to become a teacher and for over two years, she trained diligently with Michael and Seth to become one of the highest level teachers certified in Speech Level Singing for over 10 years. Jennifer implemented the Songwriting program at the Speech Level Singing Camp at Mount St. Mary’s. She was the original Educational Director of Speech Level Singing International which was established in 2001.
Jennifer and her husband, Michael built there vocal studio in Studio City, CA where they have served thousands of singers of all levels over the last two decades. Teaching non-professional and professional singers and actors, they have also helped students reach their college goals, getting them prepared to enter USC, NYU, UCLA, Carnegie Melon, LACSA, Boston Conservatory and many others. Jennifer teaches singing and songwriting and" Let’s Sing Together" , www.letssingtogether.com, group singing classes at their Studio City location as well as in Pasadena, CA. She writes songs in many genres including: pop, pop-country, rock and musical theater. Being a singer/songwriter herself, she is currently working on her cd coming this spring 2012 and is a mom to their 4 and a half year old son, Theodore. Jennifer offers singing/songwriting "life" coaching and has monthly workshops helping singers and songwriter's create an authentic connection to their music and their voice, helping to deepen and expand their artistry.
